Puncstorta is a feminist art and research collective focused on researching, exploring, and reinterpreting the histories of women in the 20th century through community-based and educational approaches.
In developing our concept for Flaszter, we started from the lack of women’s representation in public space. We aim to draw attention to stories that are an integral part of the city’s social history, yet have remained largely absent from its memorial infrastructure.
At the centre of our project is a female worker, S. Vilmosné. We will present the locations where she lived and mark them with temporary textile plaques, connecting these sites through a city map. In doing so, we aim to offer an alternative reading of Budapest’s social history.
