Virág Bogyó and Flóra Madácsi and Alíz Bárczy, in collaboration with the Architectural College, designed multifunctional wooden elements for these temporary car-free zones that invite both children and adults to play, yet have no single, fixed function, leaving room for imagination. Prior to its installation at the various locations, the installation will be on view at the Kesztyűgyár Gallery. Here, the play elements will be transformed into pedestals and benches, and a mini-exhibition will present the history of play streets, children’s urban play, and the potential inherent in it. During the street events, the exhibition elements will once again become playthings, and a special feature of the Barát Street venue will be a giant sand pile set up in the middle of the street, which will also invite visitors to play, while the artists will be on hand to engage with the adult audience through ongoing interactions and professional discussions.
